3-Axis & 4-Axis Machining Capabilities
Our machine shop is equipped with four HAAS CNC Machines. We use them for our CNC manufacturing customers to cut X-pipes, H-pipes, and Flowdrill O2 threads, as well as thread flanges. We also use them to make tooling for our bending machines, providing us with greater flexibility to meet customer needs.
3-axis machining represents the simplest form of CNC manufacturing, wherein the workpiece is fixed to a single, set position. A spindle can be moved along the X, Y, and Z axis in linear directions. Most often, 3-axis machines are used to manufacture 2-D geometric shapes.
Our CNC manufacturing capabilities also include 4-axis machinery. This works in much the same way as 3-axis machining, but it adds a rotation around the X-axis (often called the A-axis). The workpiece can be mounted on the X-axis and rotate in the figure of the A-axis. This can allow for greater design flexibility, and for more economical solutions than what the 3-axis CNC can achieve.
What sets us apart is our commitment to robust customer service. This, combined with our industry experience and our advanced technology, makes us a trusted partner for customers who need consistent, high-quality machining at fast turnaround times.
CNC Lathe Machining
In addition to 3-axis and 4-axis CNC manufacturing, our machine shop also offers CNC lathe machining. Specifically, the machine we use is a HAAS ST20Y. We use it for our bungs, fittings, end caps, and ball fittings.
How does this type of CNC machining work? A lathe turns material around a central spindle with a stationary cutting tool. The movement of the material can be guided and controlled by instructions input to a computer, as opposed to someone running the lathe manually. This ensures the highest level of precision, along with production consistency. CNC lathe machining is commonly used to produce round shapes with unique outer and inner diameters, including many parts and components that are mission-critical within the aerospace, transportation, and electronics industries.
Kooks Industries has been providing excellent workmanship since 2012, including uniformly accurate and high-quality pieces made with the CNC machine lathe. We pride ourselves on combining superior technology with enormous engineering skill, allowing us not just to produce what our customers need, but to do so with competitive turnaround times and high standards of quality control.
